This track transports to Uganda a very joyful yet traditional and homely texture. It takes its cue from the Kiganda word “Luwombo,” which refers to a traditional Buganda feast. This meal combines meat—typically beef, chicken, goat, or groundnuts—with mushrooms, dried fish, or smoked meat on occasion. They are then wrapped in banana leaves and steam-cooked for many hours. The customary dish for luwomobo in Uganda is either mashed steamed plantains (matooke) and sautéed greens.
